Did you know that if you go to Keeneland Race Track in a party bus, you can get a parking pass for $20, and they’ll let you park right up front in Row 1 with all the other party buses? Call 859-254-3412 to get the parking pass – we cannot do this for you!
Then, that entire area is roped off, and it becomes one giant tailgate.

What is Keeneland Race Track and
how does it work?
What is Keeneland?
Keeneland is a horse racing track located in the Lexington area. It takes about an hour and a half to get there from Cincinnati Ohio (but allow more time for traffic problems on race days)
Most people purchase 10 hours or more when renting from us.
How much are Keeneland tickets, and do I need a parking pass?
General admission is $10, and you can usually get them at the gate, but we recommend purchasing them ahead of time. Check their website.
If you want reserved grandstand tickets, you should probably get them ahead of time.

What time of day should we start?
Early!
The first race is usually 1:05pm. Parking at the tailgating area is $10 – $20 for the parking pass, which needs to be purchased direct from them (859-254-3412) ahead of time. Note the tailgating area is often full well before racing starts.
Most of our customers leave Cincinnati at 9:30am at the latest, which means you want us there at 9:00am to give you time to load up all your stuff!
What should we bring with us?
Chairs, food, snacks, and drinks. Tailgating is a major production down there!
Don’t forget suntan lotion.
Is this a good idea for my clients and customers?
Absolutely.
Thnk about it. A captive audiance for an entire day of fun. We’ve had large corporations bring their clients every spring and fall year after year. It’s a great way to build client (and employee) loyalty!
When does Keeneland have live racing?
Live racing is only twice a year – April, and October, Wednesday – Sunday.
They are not open Mondays or Tuesdays.
What times are the races?
First race is usually 1:05pm.
After that, there’s a race every half hour till the last one at 4:00 or so (this varies).
What should we wear?
Many people dress up.
Dresses and (really) big hats for the ladies, jackets and bow ties in pastel colors for the men.
You’ll notice the vast majority of people there are dressed this way – it’s part of the fun!
Obviously you can also wear jeans or what not. The choice is yours.
Can we eat and drink in the limo or party bus?
Yes.
In fact, we encourage it. While Keeneland has drinks and food, it’s expensive.
Motortoys is BYOB, so you can have a Mint Julip in the limo or the tailgating area with your own fixins for probably a tenth of the cost compared to inside the facility.
